I was sitting outside on a gorgeous September day when this pretty butterfly landed on my chair. I teased it with my finger and it flirted with me for quite some time, walking all over me and my chair! I tried to chase it off several times when it was tickling my neck and my arms, but it kept coming back to play. I had so much fun and I felt what Snow White must have felt with all her forest friends! :-)

I don't sleep like a normal person. Ever since I was about 12 or 13, I have had odd sleeping patterns. When my boys were babies, it changed a little bit. obviously, but not much. Once they would get on normal sleeping schedules, no matter what I did, mine would always revert back to it's odd pattern. I can go up to 3 days with no sleep or just a couple of hours if I'm lucky to get that much. I try to go to sleep, I really do. It doesn't matter what time I lay down or how bad I want it, I just end up laying there thinking about tons of stuff. For hours. It's pointless and it drives me batty.

The one good thing to come out of it is that my husband is impressed with my super-human ability.

Okay, there's another good thing about it. Maybe. It's subjective. I get to watch tons of interesting TV shows & movies to while away the time. Oh - and listen to great music as well!

3 New Books - 3 Vampire Series

I bought 3 new books today. They look very interesting. I don't know why, but I seem to be stuck in a trend and reading vampire books in a loop lately. I don't really see a downside here, but I honestly can't explain the habit. Just good reads, I guess!

Anyhoo the books are:
1. Betrayed by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast (book 2 in the House of Night series)
2. Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz (book 1 in the Blue Blood series)
3. Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (book 1 in the Vampire Academy series)

These are all new authors for me and I'm really looking forward to immersing myself in their worlds!

How good is a deer's hearing?

Hubby called me upstairs to look out the front picture window this morning. Five deer were across the road in the neighbor's yard foraging in their garden. It was really a beautiful sight. We both walked closer to the window and we were talking, quietly mind you, when they all suddenly stopped moving and stared across the road at our house. After 3-4 minutes, they all started moving toward the rear of the yard except the largest one and they resumed their foraging in the treeline. She, the largest one, stood stock still for several minutes, staring across at us. We are both convinced that they had been staring at us, not our house. She stayed right there, right where she was, not moving a muscle and it was totally freaking me out. Her head was cocked just so and she was very watchful of our front window. We cautiously and again, quietly, moved out onto the porch to see if she would react and she did nothing. Her stance was exactly the same for a couple of minutes as she stared at us. She smoothly turned, took a couple of steps and huffed twice at her family and like a shot they all bounded off into the trees.

It was absolutely amazing and such a treat to see them! However, it was also really bizarre. After they took off, I walked over to look into the picture window and sure enough, it was reflecting the bright morning sunlight in all it's glorious brilliance back at me. There was no way they could have seen us in there. Now, although we weren't whispering in the house, we also were certainly not loud enough to be heard from our yard, let alone 100 yards away across the road from the neighbor's yard.

My question is this. Could they hear us inside our house? And if so, how is that freakin possible? It's a conondrum to me!

I wish I had had my camera out, dang it all!

Address Book

I really wish the iPhone had categories in it's address book. My life would be so much easier if it did. Between my iPhone, my 8125 and Microsoft Outlook, it's a daunting task thinking about trying to organize the resulting mess. Please, Apple ... Make this happen in a future update! I love my iPhone, but this sucks!

2 complaints:

1. I can insert tags into a lj post through Shozu. They just don't get zapped through to my posts on LiveJournal.

2. I have to capitalize everything that needs it manually. Every single thing.

pfft. Those things need work. Other than that, I like it. I still need to upload photos to Flickr, Photobucket or TwitPic to test out that function. Soon...

Okay, so shozu worked fine. No error messages, so that is a plus for me. I got them about 80% of the time on my 8125.

I hope there will be updates to include mood, music and especially tags sometime in the future. But it's a fine 2nd option for a lj post. It works. Can't complain too much this early.

Been tweeting alot the last few days and now this is my 2nd lj post in as many days! I seem to really be sticking to it. haha

Organization & Updates Badly Needed

Okay, I'm going to get my act together and start organizing my blogs and services. Some of them might even have to go! The more I surf around to them, I think how time-consuming it is and I don't even do it as often as I should. As a matter of fact, I'm shamefully behind in ~~some~~ most of them! Do I want them? Sure, I guess so. Do I need them? eh. We'll see.

English intrigue fascinates me. I've always been drawn to the sophistication, pomp and fanfare of this bygone era. Sudoku is absolutely addictive! Ever since learning, I always carry a book with me wherever I go – I have so many many many! I also have a pc version I play all the time and I really want a table-top one as well. Even one of my sons love to play since I taught him how :)

I was totally thrilled when I finally made it to the spa! I had some facial treatments, a body rub, my hair beautified and my toesies enveloped in hot wax! It was everything I hoped it would be and I can’t wait to go again!

Okay, so after losing our first game of the season this morning (football), we're in the car on the way home. I decide to stop off at a local diner and get us all one of their yummy pink lemonade/icee's. I order, I pay, we sit there waiting at the drive-through window. And D. starts beating me. Playing around, but boy does that kid have a mean slap! We're having our fun. He beats me, I beat him. We're square. We get our order and I have to drive home. I say not to mess with me because I could wreck and we could die. He tells me not to mess with him. I say no, it doesn't work that way. I beat him, he dies. It's better that he dies, rather than all of us. If I wreck. :D He laughs and says 'you best leave me alone, woman or else I'll put baby powder on my hands and pimp-slap you'. WTH. He explained what it meant and I laughed my butt off. Smarty pants.

All Flocked Up !

I'm so stoked. I installed a new browser today called Flock and it rocks. I'm still playing with it and I'm posting this entry from within it's blissful confines.

D. played his first football game today. We're the Rams! We played the Bears and beat them 14-6! Go Rams!

Had to restore my desktop pc yesterday back to an earlier date. It was having major issues every time I tried to shut it down. It is doing great now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I've uploaded lots of new pictures of the Renton family reunion in July to my Ringo account, so if you're a family member, email me if you're not on my friends list and I'll add you! If you're a family member from the Pixler side, I'll be posting those photos from the reunion in June in the next couple of days. Again, if you're not on my friends list at Ringo, email me and I'll getcha added!

I've also been very busy updating my flickr photos. Finally got all of the ones from Disney World in March added and I've been adding several a day from my digital camera cds. So stop by and take a peek. If you're family, but you're not one of my contacts there at flickr, you will need to be added to be able to see shots of the boys. I've had to set privacy levels on photos including them. Sorry, but it was done out of necessity (same with Ringo!).

Chris and the boys are at a car show here in town today. Being boys. Looking at toys. Having fun. I would've gone, but it was too freakin' hot at the football game before 10am this morning. I had to come home to the a.c. Will be updating my other blogs today.

Several new shows on tv this fall I'm looking forward to seeing. I've watched the first 2 eps of Men in Trees and it is looking to be a great show.
