Bah humbug

Christmas is almost here and it's very cold outside. Getting all packed up sure is a pain in the neck. Okay, so I'm not packing. Movers are. But just the thought of it drives me nuts. Making lists and organizing, finding a house (rather, approving one since he's doing the looking and taking pictures for me), closing accounts, etc. Then there's transferring schools again, saying goodbye, and saying goodbye some more. I just cannot believe we are moving again. So much for finally buying a house and putting down some roots, huh? pfft
The boys are all saying goodbye to their friends. They are very sad. They act like I killed the puppy or something. And to top it all off, Chris and I are acting like there is no Christmas this year, not enough money and all that what with the move. They're not complaining. Just moping. I feel so bad for them! I hope they like what they get from Santa.

It's true

This nightmare I'm living in is reality.

Chris got the promotion. We're moving. He leaves Thanksgiving weekend. Right around the corner.

I'm really happy for him. He deserves it. He's worked hard for this. But they've dangled promotions in front of his face for over 2 years now and when we finally decide (translate to he finally decides) to buy a home and put down some roots, it happens. So... happy for him. Yes. Definitely. But the timing sucks. It pisses me off. Can you tell?

Whoa

This came in from left field. Chris is up for a promotion. He might get a market in Missouri. Of all places. Of all times. We just moved. We've been in this damned house barely 6 months. I'm just now seeing an end in sight for all the packing boxes. I don't know what to think about all of this. omigawd omigawd omigawd

Honey, we're home !

We're in! Finally made it into the new house. I am so excited. Now if someone would come and unpack all of these 1,000,001 boxes for me, I'd be eternally blissful. yeah, right. like that's gonna happen
Well, shit. I'm too pooped today, so those boxes are gonna have to wait.

hip hip hooray

It's my birthday, it's my birthday!

H. and the boys sang happy birthday to me this morning and I got lots and lots of kisses and hugs to start my day off just right!

Going to go have breakfast with h. in a few minutes and then we're going to spend most of the day taking stuff out to the new house. I can't believe it's actually happening. Reality hasn't really set in yet. I mean, every step of this process has been significant, but very slow. And it's just amazing that we're finally buying our own house. The septic tank was put in over the weekend and the well is almost done. There are a few minor things that need to be done inside the house, but they're essentially minor things that are are left. We could wait to start moving, but we are so excited that we decided that today was the day. H. is off on Wednesdays but The Big Guy is coming to the store tomorrow so h. chose to work tomorrow and take today off to spend with me on my birthday. Isn't that sweet? Tomorrow I'm going to go to Tulsa and exchange my contacts and take my old pc up to my uncle so he can figure out why it won't power up. That is really buggering me.

The Price Is Right

Woke up this morning with a bad crick in my neck. Chris had to sleep on the couch and I had to sleep in the recliner. The boys had some medical gloves filled with water yesterday and I told them to keep them outside. Well, needless to say, they snuck them into the house last night and broke one of them all over my bed. It was soaked. It just would not dry for some reason.

Watched The Price Is Right this morning. That is one of my favorite shows from when I was a little girl. I don't watch it often because I don't want to lose the special fuzzy feeling I get when I watch it. I know that sounds corny, but when I think about something from my childhood or remember something from that time period, there is a certain feeling that goes with it. And that show is one of those. It personifies my childhood mornings. It's a special time when I watch it. =)

My sister and her husband came over here last night with all of their naughty clothes. Chris really wants to buy some. He couldn't make up his mind. (LoL) He told her to let him think about what he wants to buy, then he'll call her. I just wish he would have bought the cute stuff. That's more my style than his. wot to do, wot to do ... cute vs sexy ... hmmm

Gotta go up to the city today to pick up the bike. Gonna bring it home and see what hits it gets. We've gotten a few calls about it, but we are leery of selling it to someone who hasn't ridden. This one lady called and wanted to buy it for her husband who is stationed over in Iraq. He's never ridden a bike before, but she wanted to get him something special for when he comes back home. That's great, but this isn't a beginner's bike. I hope she finds one better suited for a first-timer.

We're also gonna go out to the land and take a peek at the progress. I want to see the markers they've laid out. This isn't moving fast enough for me, but we want it done right, so time is not the important factor here.

First timer here...

Hey, I fried chicken tonight! And it was y.u.m.m.y. !! For those nearest and dearest to me, it is a well known fact that I proved you could burn water! Well, since July I've been experimenting and I've become very bold and courageous. I bought some fryer pieces a couple of nights ago. Then I called my mom this morning and begged for her almighty wisdom for my kitchen. She explained it all to me. Well, I pulled it off. It was a grand success and everybody loves loves loves me! Oh yeah, I also made gravy for the first time. That was all on my own. Scary!!

Took the boys to the Y tonight to go swimming. D. took his friend, Justin. It was fun. Of course, I didn't swim. I took a book and a couple of new magazines to peruse as it was a bit chilly out. I didn't want to freeze to death when we left. I'm a wuss. I hate being cold! Another well known fact. :|

After supper, Chris & I watched Captain Ron on HBO. That is a funny movie. Been a while since I'd seen it. Kurt Russell is sooo hot!

Bought a couple of magazines at Lowe's today (the ones I took with me to the Y). They are packed with great outdoor design ideas. They are as follows:
The KidSpace Idea Book by Wendy A. Jordan
kids' places to play by sunset
The Complete Guide to Building Decks by Black & Decker

Omigosh, can you tell I'm really getting revved up about moving?
